The son of the late democracy icons Ninoy and Cory Aquino, former President Benigno Aquino III, has died after being rushed to the Capitol Medical Center.
The whole Philippines woke up to a sad morning today, June 24, after the news broke out that former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III was rushed to the Capitol Medical Center in Quezon City.
It was later confirmed by Super Radyo DZBB and several news agencies that the 15th President of the Republic of the Philippines had already died at the age of 61.
According to dzBB reporter Allan Gatus, some of the personalities spotted in the Capitol Medical Center were Noynoy’s sister Kris Aquino, former Senator Mar Roxas, and former Secretary Rene Almendras.
The death of Pnoy shocked social media with the hashtag RIP PNoy quickly reaching the top spot of trending topics on Twitter Philippines.
The late President Aquino is the son of the late democracy icons former Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr. and former President Corazon “Cory” Aquino.
He is survived by his Ballsy, Pinky, Viel, and TV host-actress Kris Aquino.
As of writing, the Aquino family has yet to release an official statement about the cause of death of their dearest Noynoy. (GMA News)
