The Scarborough Shoal in West Philippine Sea is a chain of reefs located about 230 kilometers from the Philippines, and about 650 kilometers from the southern Chinese province of Hainan (also, Spratly is 895 km from Hainan and only 232 km from Palawan). These islands in WPS are in the Exclusive Economic Zone of the Philippines and within our sovereign territory.
